Proud To Be Canadian

The games kicked off with an embarassing pillar malfunction as well as hockey legend Wayne Gretzky lighting the beautiful couldron. Soon after, Alexandre Bilodeau received Canada's first gold medal of the 2010 Olympic games. Fast forward two weeks later and the Olympics are a blur. All of the golden moments mesh together, but you can't help but remember the BIG ones that stand out as MOMENTOUS, MAGNIFICENT, MAGICAL.

The PRIDE and PASSION Canadians felt when the men's hockey team won gold was chilling. Every street corner in every city was littered with red and white flags and honking horns. It was INCREDIBLE to feel so proud to be Canadian! As you probably know, our country broke a world record for the highest gold medal count achieved by one country at a single winter Olympics.

It is sad to turn on the tube and not see MEN'S SUPER G ALPINE MOGUL SLALOM EXTREME. But all good things must come to an end and Canada had the BEST ending to the games! I can't help but be EVEN more proud of our beautiful country and the amazing athletes, even more: PEOPLE that represent our country.
